CoinShares: Crypto Funds Bleed $795 Million as Tariff Fears Deepen Market Gloom 📉
Digital Asset Outflows Hit $7.2 Billion Since February, Yet XRP Bucks the Trend
Digital asset investment products logged another challenging week, experiencing $795 million in outflows as global economic worries and persistent tariff concerns continue to spook investors. 😟
According to the latest weekly report from CoinShares, this marks the third consecutive week of negative flows. This brings the total outflows since early February to a hefty $7.2 billion, nearly wiping out all year-to-date net inflows, which now stand at just $165 million across all crypto funds.
Bitcoin (BTC) once again bore the brunt of the negative sentiment, accounting for 545 million in net inflows for the year 2025 so far. Ethereum (ETH) followed with $37.6 million in outflows, while Solana (SOL), Aave, and Sui also saw investors pull back.

Interestingly, even short-Bitcoin products (designed to profit from price drops) weren't spared, seeing $4.6 million in redemptions. CoinShares suggests this indicates broader market uncertainty and risk-off behavior, rather than strong bearish conviction. 🤔
However, it wasn't all red across the board. A few altcoins managed to attract capital:
- XRP notably defied the overall trend, drawing $3.5 million in inflows. 💪
- Minor positive flows were also recorded for Ondo (
460),∗∗()∗∗(460k),∗∗Algorand(ALGO)∗∗(
250k), and Avalanche (AVAX) ($250k). ✨
Despite the generally gloomy sentiment reflected in the fund flows, a late-week market rebound occurred. This bounce, reportedly sparked by discussions around potential temporary tariff adjustments (linked to President Trump in the original text), pushed the total crypto Assets Under Management (AUM) back up to $130 billion. This represents an 8% increase from recent lows. Whether this late rally signals a sustainable shift in investor sentiment or just a temporary reprieve remains to be seen as market participants digest economic data and geopolitical news. 📈
What's your take on these persistent crypto fund outflows? Is this a sign of deeper trouble, or just a consolidation phase driven by macro fears? 🤔 Are you surprised XRP managed to attract inflows?
