MUMBAI – Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has announced a strategic collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to deploy next-generation AI-powered data center technologies, marking a significant step in the expansion of India's semiconductor and computing ecosystem. The partnership aims to provide the robust AI infrastructure required by both government agencies and private enterprises, as India seeks to cement its position as a global hub for high-performance computing.

 

The deal is a central component of AMD’s broader global strategy to deliver sovereign computing power to rapidly emerging markets. By integrating its latest chips into Tata’s extensive service network, AMD is positioning itself as a formidable challenger to Nvidia, which currently maintains a dominant share of the global AI semiconductor market. According to data from the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI, India currently ranks third globally in AI development, trailing only the United States and China.
